In all Australian markets there appears to be a quiet confidence returning. A general fall in headcount freezes is indicating that many companies are moving to a growth outlook. Jobs are returning, however businesses are definitely reassessing the types of employees they need in a post-GFC world.

There is a clear trend emerging that clients have no room for “order takers”. Companies are looking for people with highly proactive account management skills. They want candidates that can bring in accounts and grow old ones.

Candidates on the other hand are looking beyond salaries to job security and the right organisation for them in the longer term, personally and professionally. We believe this presents a great opportunity for companies to attract talented individuals by offering quality of life benefits that fall outside traditional remuneration packages.
